SpiralBody Foundations
Movement Complexity Creates Advanced Martial Skill.
From lines to circles to spirals.
SpiralBody training uses joint and body rotations to move from linear movement to circular, and finally to spiraling. As the practitioner moves up the complexity pyramid they will notice that movements feel much more complicated. But this constant struggle to move with complexity will be ‘burning in’ this type of movement, so that even seemingly straight motions will have a tightly bound spiral inside of them.

Innovative testing and partner drills
To understand if we are moving with the building blocks of spiral movement, we need feedback. This is why the SpiralBody course includes testing methods and movement drills to burn in the mechanics of moving correctly. These drills have been specially selected for their applicability for all martial artists and for their usefulness in working towards the goal of SpiralBody skills.

'Burn in' the SpiralBody, and it will be present in all you do.
The requirements of the martial artist are different from the Mover, Dancer or Gymnast. In interaction with a partner or opponent we often have to deal with huge volumes of force headed our way. In those moments, you dont want to have to think to make the body perform. As such we want to burn in the movement foundations that will come into play in the moment. Training these Building Blocks is the primary subject of this foundations course.
